expanded into Thailand and launched our own mining operations in Tanzania.
Today, while I lead the MAS Group and our original India branch, Aleeze Gems continues to
grow globally. Our expansion is fueled by the same values I started with: a relentless
dedication to excellence and a deep respect for the gems we source. We remain a bridge
across borders, bringing the finest ethically sourced stones from our mines to the world

Our Story
Aleeze Gems was created with a belief that true jewellery begins with authenticity, purpose,
and respect for its origins. As part of the MAS Group, our foundation is built on decades of
experience in gemstones—shaped by craftsmanship, ethical sourcing, and an
uncompromising commitment to quality.
The journey began in India, where the group’s founder, Mir Ali Askar, was introduced to
gemstones at the age of 14 through his father, Mir Nader Ali, and his small gem business.
What started as early exposure soon became a lifelong pursuit of excellence. In 1980, with
the guidance and support of his father, Mir Ali Askar formally registered the company,
marking the true beginning of the MAS journey. The name MAS was derived from Mir Ali
Askar’s initials, thoughtfully adapted to preserve distinction and elegance—reflecting
humility behind the name. Despite years of hardship, the vision endured, and in 1989, MAS
Gems opened its first small retail presence in Bangalore.
In 2017, the legacy evolved with the creation of Aleeze Gems, named after the founder’s first
grandchild—symbolizing continuity, love, and the future of the journey. Today, with
gemstone mining operations in Tanzania and a presence across India and Thailand, Aleeze
Gems represents the next chapter of the MAS Group. From mine to masterpiece, every
gemstone is carefully selected and crafted to become a timeless part of life’s most meaningful
memories.
